Chess

For FLVS I needed to supply my instructor with information on one of my favorite games. Here is the information I supplied her with:

I, Noah Cook, would like to explain one of my favorite games, which is Chess. It uses medieval type pieces. The goal of the game is to capture the King by cornering him to the point where he has no place to move without being taken by the opponent’s pieces.

Chess is played on a board similar to the checkerboard. The pieces are the King, Queen, two Bishops, two Rooks, two Knights (which are horses) and eight pawns. Each piece has its own way it has to move. For example, the pawns can usually only move forward. When they attack the other opponent, pawns move diagonally going forwards. When a piece is attacked, it is taken out of the game and set aside. The time playing chess varies depending on the ability of the players.
