Geography Theme Park

I am almost done my Geography course and for my last two assignments I had to write a paragraph and answer questions about "my theme park" that I was supposed to create. Here is the information I supplied my instructor with.

General

What will be the name of the theme park? Why was this name selected?

World Wide Wonders will be the name of the theme park. This name was selected because the theme park will make you feel like you're in another country.

Provide a general description of the theme park.

The theme park will have six roller coasters for older people and six for younger people each one representing different countries.

Who will be in charge of running the theme park?

The committee will be in charge of running the theme park.

Location

Where will the theme park be built? Be sure to include the name of the major population center or centers it will be near.

The theme park will be built in Keystone Heights, Florida. The major population centers near it are Jacksonville, Lake City, Palatka, Ocala, Starke, Orange Park, Gainesville.

Describe the geography of the area (coastal, hilly, flat, etc.) Include actual names of landforms or bodies of water.

This area is grassy and sandy slightly hlly and there are many lakes.

Provide a brief explanation why this location was selected. What are the advantages of this location over other locations?

This location was selected because it is close to home and will provide business for the town. The advantages of this location is that this area is surrounded by many major towns.

How easy will it be to get to the theme park? What will need to be done to improve travel to and from the theme park?

It will be fairly easy to get to the theme park since there is a two lane highway near it. If we want to improve transportation we should make the highway have four lanes.

What infrastructure other than transportation will be needed to support the theme park at this location?

We will probably need water lines and a more advanced power source.

What climate or environmental challenges exist at this location? What will be done to make sure theme park is environmentally-friendly?

The climate that exists at this location that will challenge it is rain and lightening storms. To make sure the theme park is environmentally friendly we will support and advertise recycling.

Economic

The building of the theme park will create thousands of new jobs. What evidence can you find that shows there will be enough new workers at this location?

The unemployment rate in our state is close to ten percent the food banks our overcrowded with people and there are thousands of people with out jobs. People are coming from over 15 miles away just to work in a drug store. I am sure we will have enough workers.

Literacy rate can affect the quality of new workers. What is the host country’s literacy rate? What will need to be done to prepare workers for jobs at theme park? How will highly skilled technical workers be attracted to work at theme park?

Our literacy rate is over 90%. To prepare workers for this job they will go through a special training to get a certificate that will certify them to work here. Highly skilled technicians will be attracted to the theme park because it will be a job for theme that they will enjoy.

What will be the primary currency used and accepted at theme park? Explain why.

The primary currency will be U. S. dollars because the park is in the United States.

What will be the cost, if any, to enter theme park? How will this amount be determined?

The cost will be $60 dollars per person because there are six different countries represented in the theme park.

Who will be the primary visitors to theme park? How will advertising money be spent to attract additional visitors?

The primary visitors will be people from the surrounding area and tourists. Other people are invited as well. The advertising money will be spent on TV ads and also on bill boards.

Design

List the name and theme of each of the six sections, or lands, to be included in theme park.

The six sections

1. Interesting India

2. Illustrious Italy

3. Picturesque Panama

4. indomitable Israel

5. Awestruck America

6. Indescribable Indonesia

Creativity is needed to make sure that each section tells the “story” of the different world region and culture it represents. Describe at least one thing a visitor should learn about the world region in each of the six sections of the theme park.

The visitor should learn how the people live compared to our country. For instance in Asia some people have to grind corn for there bread and go to wells for their water. The visitor should be able to experience it.

What will need to be done to prepare the site before construction can begin?

Some trees will need to be cut down in certain areas others we will leave standing.

Various attractions, such as rides, theaters or exhibits, make a theme park entertaining. Describe at least one interesting attraction and the section of theme park it will be found. What will be the name of this attraction?

The name of this attraction will be Gold Rush. It will be located in the Awestruck America section. It will be a water ride.

A logo provides an easy-to-recognize symbol, such as golden arches or mouse ears. Describe the logo for the theme park. Give a brief explanation why this logo was selected.

My logo will be a circle with the letters WWW in the center the W’s represent world wide wonders which is the name of the theme park. Also around the W’s will be the names of the six different countries. This logo was selected because it would be almost like the w's in front of a URL.

Other

Do you think this theme park will make enough money to stay in business.

Yes, I think this theme park will be a great success

For those of you in Keystone World Wide Wonders is not coming there. This is pretend. This is more information

In the entrance to Picturesque Panama their will be monkeys made out of moss hanging from wires under the sign that says Picturesque Panama. Also there will be banana trees lining about 200 feet.

The attraction that “tells a story” about the world region of Panama will be the Jeep Ride. Jeeps travel around an area with live animals and trees. The person driving the jeep will be telling the people in the jeep about the animals’ life and what they eat. The driver will talk about Balboa the man who sighted the Pacific Ocean and Henry Morgan the pirate that destroyed a old church. The driver will also talk about Darien national park and how in one day you can see both the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean just by driving in a car across the short stretch of land. The driver will be filling the people in the ride with the information I just provided so they when they go home they will not just think about the ride but also about the history of panama. To keep the people safe the animals will not be wild but will be trained Panamanian jungle animals.

Exhibit of my choice

The exhibit of my choice is a simulator that helps you feel what it is like to travel through the jungle on a jeep with all the wild animals around you. This ride is like the ride at the Seaworld in San Diego except you are not going through the artic. Instead you are experiencing the panama canal the jungles the people and everything in panama. The seats in this room are meant so they can rock or pitch forwards so you feel like you are in the jeep even though you are just looking at it on a screen.
